Born
in Texas and raised in Oklahoma (the source, he says, of his
down-home good nature), Scott knew he wanted to be a banker
at age 11. He held his first banking job while a 7th grader:
he washed bank windows and picked up trash while quizzing bankers
about their jobs. From there he worked his way up: from teller
to investment officer to examiner to compliance officer to COO
to CIO. Today he is president of Peoples Bank in Taos and Red
River.
Scott
is an active volunteer fire fighter and serves as Chief of the
Pot Creek Fire Department. He is active in Taos Chamber of Commerce,
the Taos Community Foundation, the Taos Literacy Center Board,
and the Holy Cross Hospital Foundation. Scott has three children—a
daughter who attends New Mexico State University, a son who
attends University of New Mexico, and a one-year old baby Roman.
In addition to her full-time job at Peoples Bank, Scott's wife
Traci is a volunteer firefighter and works with CAV, Taos Community
Foundation, and the Kiwanis.
Scott
supports Holy Cross Hospital Foundation because he believes
we all need to do whatever we can to improve the health of residents
of Taos and the surrounding areas. He encourages you to find
out more about the Foundation and to join him in supporting
this fine organization.
