Linda Aubrecht, President of the Holy Cross Hospital Auxiliary and ex-officio Foundation board member, was raised in a Chicago suburb. As an American Field Service exchange student to Berlin the summer of 1960, she met another American exchange student who has been her husband for 41 years. She graduated from Manhattanville College in New York, where she studied political science.

At the age of 24, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and spent 15 years in a wheelchair. This experience led her to return to school to earn a masters in rehabilitation counseling. Linda worked in this field for several years before she and her husband Bob retired to Taos in 2001. Linda and Bob vacationed in Taos for over thirty years because Bob is an avid skier and ski instructor.

The last six years Linda has thoroughly enjoyed volunteering at Holy Cross Hospital, working with the volunteers and staff.

This spring Linda had some big excitement—the arrival of her first grandchild. Unfortunately, Thea lives in New Hampshire, which means Linda will be doing some cross-country traveling in the future.
